On the initiative of Paris Town Hall, Theater des Abbesses - Theater de la Ville’s second theatre hall - was inaugurated on 18th November 1996. This italian Theater was built by the Belgian architect Charles Vandenhove. Gérard Violette, director of the Theater de la Ville, programs each season around 95 shows in those two theatres hall and promotes national and international contemporary creations. Theatre, dance, music and world music programs are making this theatre inside Abbesses area a window on the world.
